All future events have been reviewed, with processes and procedures now in place to allow the safe return of physical events under strict government guidance. Event hosting is reliant on Government permission so if we are faced with temporary lockdowns some events maybe subject to postponement/rescheduling.

What we require from participants:

  • If any participant finds themselves displaying any form of COVID symptoms or has been in contact with someone of concern in the run up to the event, they must contact the Admin team and remove themselves from the event. In this situation, tickets can be deferred to a future event.
  • Full adherence to TSFE’s guidelines, as well as the guidelines of other organisations related to each event such as The National Trust.

We will continue to keep a watchful eye on the changing situation, and are ready to adapt to any additional restrictions that are put in place. Any extra processes will be communicated to participants as required on an event by event basis. If the pandemic changes to the point that events cannot go ahead, existing tickets will be honoured at the next event of that type.

We’re doing everything in our power to make these events as safe and smooth for everyone involved. We ask that you show both TSFE and your fellow participants the same level of respect, and follow all guidelines and procedures put in place.

When Will I Receive My Tickets?

Once you have registered through our website you will receive an order confirmation immediately via Active. This email will contain your ticket and a link to your joining instructions.

I am unable to make the event, will I get a refund?

We do not give out refunds for event registrations. We can transfer you to an equivalent event and this attracts a £10 transfer administration fee.

Transfers must be completed 4 weeks in advance of the event. Contact the admin team if you wish to transfer at admin@thesfexperience.co.uk

Is there car parking at the events?

Parking will be available at all our events. Details are within your joining instructions.

Do I get a medal at the end of the event?

Yes every finisher at our events receives a custom designed medal to commemorate their achievement along with a certificate of completion.

For our virtual events this maybe in the form of an exclusive Patch that will be posted out to you.

Do I have to supply my own boots and bergen?

Yes all participants must wear their own boots and rucksack / bergen and also bring the necessary kit to make up the weight for their category.

We would recommend that you train with your equipment ahead of the event so that you can ensure it is comfortable and that your boots are worn in to avoid injury and discomfort on the day.

Ahead of the event you will receive Joining Instructions which detail mandatory kit along with an example bergen packing list to help people pack appropriately and hit the weight for their category.

When will I recIEve my Joining Instructions?

Joining Instructions for each event are sent to you in your confirmation email that you recieve from our ticketing platform Actiive. There is a link in the email that will direct you to these. Please keep chekcing these as if changes are made these will be reflected in the latest version. Please always access these through your email link as opposed to downloading these as content may chnage over time.

Any major changes then participants will be emailed.

Please always check your SPAM/Junk folders if you do not recieve your confirmation email.

Where can I stay?

With the exception of our SF Boot Camp we do not provide accommodation and it is the responsibility of participants to make their own arrangements.

For events in the Brecon area there is a campsite close by: Grawen Caravan and Camping Park

There are also lots of hotels in nearby Brecon and Merthyr Tydfil, including a Premier Inn and Travelodge.

Do all your events require navigation skills?

No, The Fan Dance and SF10 Race events do not require any navigational ability and are well marshalled routes on paths. You will be given a route map in your Joining Instructions and on the day.

Point to Point and Endurance both have a self navigation ticket option which you must prove your navigational skills or attend one of our navigational weekends (Discounts are available to ticket holders). Alternatively there are guided tickets whereby you will led by a qualified member of staff.

What type of training should I do?

We would recommend a mix of cardio and circuit training as well as getting yourself out on the hills with your kit to ensure you’re prepared for your event.

Once you have registered on an event you can join the TSFE Members RV page on Facebook and share your training with fellow participants, gaining tips and sharing stories to help your own training regime.

Can I do a single event in the Loadstone category carrying 45lbs?

Loadstone Aptitude is a series of events and is not a category on individual events.

Those competing in Loadstone Aptitude must complete all three events within the one series under set conditions and timing criteria.

Fan Dance Kit and Clothing

Fan dance kit and clothing information will be provided when you register. This will include a detailed kit and clothing list to help you to prepare for your event. There is a great detail of detail and a ‘Mandatory’ list of kit and clothing prepared for you. This helps to make sure you are able to take part to the best of your ability.

All of our Team have a huge amount of experience in this event and have used this to prepare the detailed Fan Dance kit and clothing list. TFSE are keen to make sure you are well equipped as safety is a priority. We really want you to have an amazing Fan Dance experience.
